The proximity to Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint means we are constantly dealing with sandy, high-moisture soils and very strict environmental setbacks near the water. We focus on building massive rock retaining walls and complex drainage systems designed to handle the massive snowmelt coming off the surrounding Bonner County mountains. Because the Sandpoint lake level is controlled by the dam, we have to account for seasonal groundwater fluctuations that can turn a dry site into a swamp by mid-June.
