Questions About Project Scoping
The Site Scope Studio gives you a preliminary budget range before anyone walks your property. Here is what that tool can and cannot tell you.
How accurate is a scoped estimate?
It is a planning range, typically within 15–25% of final for a straightforward project with known quantities. It gets less precise when the scope depends entirely on site conditions — grading, drainage, or anything requiring excavation. That is exactly why we still walk the property before quoting.
Do I have to book an estimate afterward?
No. Plenty of people use the Studio to decide whether a project fits their budget before talking to anyone. If you do want a real quote, book the walkthrough and we will turn your scope into a written, itemized scope document.
What information do I need before I start scoping?
The project type, rough dimensions, and your budget range. If you have survey plans or architectural drawings, have them nearby — they change the estimate more than any description you can type, particularly for anything involving site grading or a new foundation.
Can I scope multiple zones on one property?
Yes, and you should. Zoned scoping lets you stage a project — front yard now, backyard next year — and see the combined total, which is usually cheaper per zone than booking them as separate projects.
Is my scoped project information saved?
Only in your browser, on your device, until you choose to submit it. We do not capture a scoped project or store it against your name unless you submit it for a formal quote, and we do not sell or share that data either way.
A scoped estimate is a planning tool, not a quote. The written scope you sign after the on-site walkthrough is the number that binds us.
