In unincorporated Kootenai County, demolition permits are required for structures with electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems and for structures over 200 square feet. Within the City of Post Falls or the City of Coeur d'Alene, municipal demolition permits are required from the respective city building department. LP determines the applicable permit authority for your site location and obtains all required permits before mobilizing equipment. We do not begin demolition without proper permits in place.

LP demolishes concrete slabs, driveways, patios, sidewalks, outbuildings (sheds, garages, carports, greenhouses), asphalt surfaces, retaining walls, rockeries, landscape structures, and wood-frame residential accessory structures. We do not demolish occupied residential structures, structures with active utilities (utilities must be properly disconnected by licensed contractors before LP mobilizes), or structures containing known hazardous materials without prior abatement by a licensed hazmat contractor.

LP hauls all demolition debris to permitted disposal facilities in compliance with Idaho DEQ waste disposal requirements. Concrete is delivered to aggregate recyclers when site quantities warrant. Asphalt is similarly recyclable and LP coordinates with local paving recyclers. Clean wood framing is separated for wood waste disposal. Drywall, roofing materials, and mixed debris go to permitted construction and demolition (C&D) waste facilities. LP does not bury, burn, or abandon demolition debris on your property.

Concrete removal is typically priced by the square foot and by thickness. A standard 4-inch residential driveway or patio typically runs $3–$6 per square foot including demolition, loading, and haul-off. Thicker slabs, reinforced concrete (with rebar), and concrete in confined spaces will cost more. LP provides itemized per-square-foot pricing in written estimates after reviewing the site.

Permit processing time is the primary scheduling driver. Kootenai County and City permits can take 1–3 weeks to issue. LP recommends contacting us 3–4 weeks before your desired demolition date so we can begin permit applications promptly. During the busy spring and summer season, LP equipment schedules fill 2–3 weeks out. Early planning is the best way to keep your project timeline intact.
