Fire pits installed by LP are designed and built by the same masonry crew that installs paver patios, flagstone, and hardscape work. There's no subcontractor managing firepit installation independently of patio work. Integration, alignment, and drainage between the patio and fire pit are handled by one team.

LP builds fire pit bowls with natural stone, manufactured block, or segmental retaining wall units. Proper depth, a gravel drainage layer at the base, and correct mortar work create a fire pit that won't heave through Idaho winters.

Square & Geometric Fire Features

Square and rectangular fire pit designs integrate cleanly with contemporary patio layouts and linear furniture arrangements. Built with natural stone veneers, large-format block, or concrete masonry units, geometric fire features anchor a seating area with architectural precision.

Gas Fire Pit Conversions & Inserts

Gas fire pit inserts — burner rings with lava rock, fire glass, or steel pans — can be installed in any masonry fire pit structure. LP can design and install a gas-ready fire pit structure and coordinate with a licensed gas contractor for the gas line rough-in and connection. Gas features offer instant on/off and no ash cleanup.

Integrated Seating Walls

Masonry seating walls (18–20" height, 14–16" depth) built around or adjacent to a fire pit define the outdoor room and eliminate the need for moveable furniture. Caps in natural stone, concrete, or porcelain tile. LP integrates seating wall placement, height, and cap material selection into the fire pit design phase — they're one composition, not separate items.

Patio Integration

A fire pit without a hardscape base is a liability — ash, heat, and soil movement all degrade the surrounding area quickly. LP integrates fire pit installation with adjacent paver patio, flagstone, or concrete work. The fire pit and patio are designed and installed together, with proper clearances and fireproof base materials at the pit perimeter.

Drainage & Freeze-Thaw Detailing

LP builds fire pits with a gravel drainage layer at the base of the bowl to prevent water accumulation and ice formation inside the fire pit structure. This detail prevents freeze-thaw cracking of the fire pit bowl — the most common failure point for fire pits built without proper drainage. It adds minimal cost and is standard on every LP fire pit installation.
