LP handles the full sequence from excavation through finished surface — sub-base excavation, geotextile, compaction, and surface installation. No subcontractors, no coordination gaps, one point of accountability. This is only possible because LP owns both excavation equipment and hardscape installation crews.
Sub-Base Engineered for Idaho Frost
Every LP driveway is excavated to a depth that removes frost-susceptible soils and replaces them with free-draining aggregate. The depth varies by site, but LP never installs a driveway surface on a base that hasn't been properly excavated and compacted. Driveways that heave and sink were built on inadequate bases.
Culvert Sizing That Doesn't Wash Out
Driveway culverts fail in two ways: wrong size (too small for the flow volume during spring runoff) or wrong installation (not enough cover, improper grade, inadequate end treatments). LP sizes culverts based on observable drainage patterns and conservative flow estimates for North Idaho's spring melt conditions.
Road Frontage Coordination
Any driveway work within the right-of-way or at the road frontage in Kootenai County may require an approach permit from the county road department or ACHD. LP researches permit requirements for your specific parcel and handles the application process — so you don't find out after the pour that you needed a permit.

Gravel & Crushed Rock Driveways
LP excavates and installs properly engineered gravel driveways: sub-base excavation to a depth appropriate for Idaho's frost zone, geotextile fabric installation to prevent base migration, and a specified depth of compacted crushed rock or road base aggregate. This is the most cost-effective driveway surface and, when built correctly, handles North Idaho winters for decades with minimal maintenance.

Paver Driveways & Approaches
Interlocking concrete pavers installed on a deep compacted aggregate base create a premium driveway surface that handles vehicle loads, resists staining, and allows individual unit replacement if damage occurs. More expensive than gravel or concrete, but the most aesthetically flexible option — pavers can match or complement an adjacent patio system for a cohesive entry experience.

Concrete Driveway Aprons & Approaches
Poured concrete approach slabs at garage entries, road frontage transitions, and driveway widening areas. LP pours to proper thickness and reinforcement specifications (typically 4–6 inches with rebar or wire mesh for vehicle loads) on a compacted sub-base. Broom, exposed aggregate, or light brushed finishes available.

Driveway Drainage & Edge Solutions
Surface and subsurface drainage management along driveway edges and approaches: roadside swales, French drain tie-ins at low points, and edge curbing or paver border treatments.
