Every installation includes winterization access, properly detailed reservoir drain-down, and liner work that handles freeze-thaw without damage. We've been installing water features across Post Falls, CDA, and Kootenai County since 2005 — and maintaining them.

Disappearing Waterfalls
A cascading waterfall that drops into a buried reservoir — no open pond, no mosquito breeding, no liner edge visible at grade. Water recirculates through an underground vault and pump. Disappearing waterfalls are the most maintenance-friendly water feature LP builds: no fish to care for, no pond to clean, and a recirculating pump that can be winterized in 30 minutes.
Pondless Reservoirs
A buried reservoir basin filled with washed rock and covered by a decorative stone or boulder surface. Water collects in the reservoir and is pumped back to the waterfall or stream head. The surface is solid stone — children and pets can walk on it safely. LP sizes reservoirs to handle continuous pump run-time and to manage spillover during heavy rain without overflow.
Naturalistic Ponds
Rubber liner ponds with boulder-edged surrounds, aquatic planting zones, and optional fish populations. North Idaho's climate allows for year-round pond operation with appropriate depth (minimum 24" for koi overwintering). LP's pond installations use EPDM liner over underlayment, boulder edge work, and native or adapted aquatic plantings that establish naturally in the regional climate.
Basalt Column Features
Drilled basalt columns with recirculating water emerging from the top create a low-maintenance, architectural water feature. Regional basalt is appropriate for North Idaho's landscape aesthetic and is available in a range of column heights and diameters. Single columns, cluster arrangements, and stream-fed basalt bowl compositions are all available. Winterization is as simple as disconnecting the pump.
Stream & Creek Beds
Naturalistic stream channels connect a waterfall head to a pondless reservoir, creating a flowing stream through the landscape. LP designs stream grade, meander pattern, and rock placement to replicate natural water movement — not straight channels with evenly spaced stones. Regional basalt and granite boulders, stream gravel, and aquatic marginal plants create a feature that looks like it belongs in North Idaho.
Winterization & Seasonal Service
North Idaho water features need winterization before freeze-up. LP's winterization service includes pump removal and storage, line draining, and reservoir preparation. For pond systems with fish populations, LP performs depth checks and aeration setup before winter. Spring startup includes pump reinstallation, cleaning, and biological balance checks. Seasonal service is available for all LP-installed water features.
