Driveway Plowing
Full driveway clearing including turnarounds, approach aprons, and the connection to the public road. LP stacks snow in agreed staging areas — we don't pile it against garage doors, over landscaping beds, or blocking sight lines at your street approach. We note staging preferences during the pre-season site visit.
Walkway & Entry Shoveling
Front entries, side gates, back access paths, and any walkway that connects your home's functional routes. Covered by the same trigger depth as your driveway service. LP shovels to bare pavement where surface conditions allow, or to a safe traction surface when ice has bonded to concrete.
Deck & Roof Edge Snow Load
Heavy snow accumulation on decks and low-slope roof sections creates structural load and ice dam risk as the melt cycle begins. LP can remove deck snow loads as an add-on service. Roof edge clearing — particularly clearing gutters before icing begins — helps prevent the ice dams that cause interior water damage. Discussed and priced separately during the pre-season visit.
De-icing & Traction Treatment
Applied before or after a storm event based on forecast timing. Pre-treatment with treated salt brine or calcium chloride prevents bonding on driveways and walkways during moderate events. Post-storm de-icing addresses refreezing after temperatures drop following a melt period — the most dangerous condition for pedestrian falls.
Seasonal Contracts & Per-Event Options
Seasonal flat-rate contracts provide the most predictable cost and highest service priority — you're on the route before the season begins. Per-event billing is available for clients who prefer flexibility, but per-event clients are serviced after seasonal contract clients when LP routes run concurrent events. For reliable winter access, the seasonal contract is the right choice.
Emergency Response & Ice Events
Ice storms — freezing rain on bare pavement — are more dangerous than snowfall and harder to predict. LP monitors National Weather Service forecasts and Kootenai County road reports through the winter season. When a significant ice event is forecast, we pre-stage materials and prioritize at-risk clients. Response is 24 hours a day for seasonal contract clients.
