Spring Color Display — Post-Frost Install
North Idaho's last frost date in Post Falls and CDA is typically late April to mid-May. LP installs spring color displays — pansies, snapdragons, violas, alyssum, and cool-season annuals — immediately after the last frost risk passes, maximizing the spring display window before summer heat arrives.
Summer Annual Installation
LP transitions displays to heat-tolerant summer annuals once temperatures stabilize in late May: Calibrachoa, Lantana, Petunias, Marigolds, Angelonia, Vinca, and Salvia are LP's most-used performers. Summer plantings are selected for North Idaho's combination of high-altitude summer sun intensity and warm but not extreme temperatures.
Fall Transition — Mums, Ornamental Kale & Grasses
LP replaces summer annuals in late August and September with fall displays: garden mums, ornamental kale and cabbage, asters, and ornamental grasses. North Idaho's fall color season — September through first hard freeze (typically October) — can be one of the most striking display periods.
