For 3-inch and larger caliper trees, 5–6 feet is more appropriate. The important thing is that the ring grows with the tree visually — we can install a larger ring from the start if you prefer, since the tree will grow into it within 5–10 years.

Can I have a tree ring installed in a color that matches my house or hardscape?

Yes. Integral color is available in all our standard colors (buff, tan, slate gray, bark brown, terra cotta) and can be custom-mixed to match a specific hardscape material. Tree rings in colored concrete are popular in formal front yard settings where the rings read as designed landscape elements rather than purely functional protection.
